Portland Picks

Here are our top picks for things to do this month. Whether you're looking for date night ideas, fun for the whole family, or a solo afternoon activity, we've got you covered with our top picks
Wooden Shoe Tulip Festival Forty acres of tulips in full bloom, just 30 minutes south of the city — this one's worth the drive every single year. Wine tastings, food, a craft market, and the kind of color that makes you genuinely happy to live in the Pacific Northwest. (Through April 26 — Woodburn, OR)

Holi — Portland's Festival of Colors Free, joyful, and absolutely covered in color: Portland's Holi celebration brings the whole city together at Pioneer Courthouse Square for a unifying color throw, music, and all-around good energy. Perfect low-key Saturday afternoon. (Sat–Sun April 4–5, noon–4pm — Pioneer Courthouse Square, free)

Magnolia Festival at Lan Su Chinese Garden Lan Su is quietly one of Portland's most beautiful spots in any season, but April's Magnolia Festival takes it to another level — blooms, cultural programming, and that peaceful-garden-in-the-middle-of-the-city magic. (All month — Lan Su Chinese Garden)

Fertile Ground Festival Portland's homegrown Fringe-style arts fest is back — theater, dance, comedy, and performance work from local artists across venues all over the metro. Great for a night out that feels a little unexpected. (April 10–26 — various Portland venues)

Bridge to Brews 10K Run over four of Portland's iconic bridges, finish at Tom McCall Waterfront Park, and celebrate with craft beer and live music. Even if running isn't your thing, the post-race festival is worth showing up for. (April 19 — Tom McCall Waterfront Park)

Portland Pizza Week The most delicious excuse to eat your way across the city: special pies at $4 a slice or $25 a whole pie from restaurants all over Portland. Make a week of it. (April 20–26 — various Portland restaurants)

Oregon Symphony with Yo-Yo Ma If you've been looking for a reason to finally make it to the Schnitz — this is it. Yo-Yo Ma performing with the Oregon Symphony is a genuinely special night. (April 19–20 — Arlene Schnitzer Concert Hall)
