Juggling home repairs with a busy schedule is easier with a plan—same goes for routine chores. Tasks like cleaning your AC unit, deep-cleaning carpets, or tuning up yard tools can be forgotten without a set time. March is the perfect month to tackle these three essential maintenance projects.

1) Bust Some Dust

With warmer weather on the horizon, it's the perfect time of year to bust the dust from your air conditioning unit. All year it collects dust, dirt, and debris that can compromise the effectiveness of your AC unit. Take advantage of the sunnier days, hook up your garden hose, and spray it down. You won't need any tools or brushes (this can bend the fins).

2) Let's Get Steamy

Spring time brings the bright sun that might be shining on and exposing the dirt in your carpet. The end of March is the perfect time to lug out that carpet shampooer or phone a pro to tackle the crud accumulating on your carpets. Give your rugs and carpets a good going-over and your spaces will feel refreshed and clean, just in time for Spring.

3) Tool Tune Up Time

Before you start up those mowers, go through all your lawn and yard care tools and toys to make sure they're in good shape. Throw out or recycle broken rakes, sharpen your clippers, and if needed, take your mower in for service. Once everything is ready, you can get down to gardening, knowing all your gear is functioning as intended.
