February Home Maintenance Tips

Anyone who’s ever attempted to squeeze a home repair project into their hectic schedule knows that having a plan makes everything run much more smoothly. The same goes for everyday household chores. Even the simplest maintenance tasks—like flipping your mattress, cleaning the garbage disposal, or dusting your fans—can easily be overlooked without a designated time on your calendar. February is the perfect month to focus on these three essential home maintenance tasks...
1) It's Time to Flip Out!
With February about to end, it's the perfect time of year to flip your mattress over. Give it a good vacuuming on both sides. If you have a one side mattress, there's no need to do this but if you have a two-sided mattress, give the box spring and mattress and frame a good going-over. Your mattress should be rotated every two months to help it last.
2) Clean That Disposal
There's nothing worse than a slow-running and smelly garbage disposal. Did you know that your disposal needs to be cleaned regularly? This oft-neglected household item needs care and and attention to keep it functioning properly. To clean your disposal, you can use a professional cleaning solution or pod or go old school and use two cups of ice and half to one cup of salt and let it run.
If you're doing an in-depth cleaning, be sure to turn off the disposal first.
3) Scrub and Dust Your Fans
Get ready to give your fans a refreshing clean! ????? Dust and wash your wall fans, ceiling fans, and mounted fans to keep them in tip-top shape! Grab a damp cloth and wipe them down, then go the extra mile with some compressed air to blast away any stubborn, hard-to-reach spots. Those blades can collect dust and grime, spreading it all around your space, so regular cleaning is key to keeping your home and air crisp, fresh, and oh-so-inviting! ????????? Clean fans = clean air = happy home! ????
